Filterbank Manager

I was tired of always having to manually write down the settings on my Sherman Filterbank 2. The notes would just float around on my desk for a while, before finally going missing when I needed them the most...

Filterbank Manager will allow you to relatively quickly note down your preset and save it as an imagefile to keep, for example, in your project folder. For your convenience I included the presets that are featured in the Sherman Filterbank 2 manual…

I hope this program will suit your workflow as well as it suits mine...

Filterbank Manager v1.5

IMPORTANT!

Filterbank Manager requires the .NET framework 4.5 Framework to operate. The installer will check if it is available on your machine and download and install it when necessary...

Alternatively you could download it from Microsoft and install it yourself before installing Filterbank Manager...

EVEN MORE IMPORTANT!

Windows may give you a warning ("Windows protected your PC") because the software hasn't been signed and I'm not recognised as a "known publisher". The certificates to do this cost (quite a lot of) money and since this tool is free and I don't make enough software to warrant the cost I don't have one. I can however assure you that the software is safe. But you don't have to take my word for it, the sourcecode is available here: https://github.com/rbdgt/Filterbankv1.5

NEW IN V1.5

  • CLEAN-view
  • Connections (jack + midi) visible and connectable (right click on connectors)
  • Ability to put labels on connections

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Install and start the program
  • The installer will check if .NET 4.5 Framework is available and install it if necessary
  • Set up your virtual Filterbank and give your preset a name
  • Save your settings as an fbm-file for later use or for sharing online
  • Choose the layout you want
    • REALISTIC (Looks like a real Filterbank / not very printer friendly / slightly less readable)
    • CLEAN (More symbolic representation / halfway between REALISTIC and SCHEMATIC / very readable)
    • SCHEMATIC (More symbolic representation / easily printable / very readable)
  • Save your settings as an image and keep it in your project folder.

THANKS!

Special thanks to Sherman and Herman Gillis for making the Sherman Filterbank 2 such an excellent piece of musicmaking machinery. The background for the interface comes from the Sherman Filterbank 2 manual.
